Description

Equally at home backpacking through the fall or car camping in the spring, the Therm-a-Rest ProLite Plus Ultralight Self-Inflating Backpacking Pad gives added warmth and comfort without sacrificing packability. The thick diagonal-cut foam offers a lightweight pad with a 3.2 R-value for comfort and warmth during three-season adventures (R-value measures the material’s ability to insulate; the higher the R-value, the warmer the sleeping pad). The 1.5-inch thick mattress expands on its own and tops off with a few breaths thanks to the self-inflating design. Available in two styles: Equipped with the Standard Valve, or equipped with the WingLock Valve which is able to inflate a pad three times faster than a standard valve thanks to a larger barrel and optional one-way inflation. Both styles of the ProLite Plus includes a stuff sack to protect the pad when it's packed down. Made in the USA. Manufacturer’s limited lifetime warranty.

I got this solely because it's relatively quiet. I can't comment on the r value since I cheated and stacked not one but two z lite's underneath since my cousin didn't use his, but I sure was warm and cozy.As the instructions say, it's best stored inflated and with the valve open to avoid issues with inflation later, but I live in a moist climate. The last thing I need is mold in my pad. There were issues with the bottom half inflating, and my solution was to fold it in half and put some weight on it. The air inside will puff out the bottom. Then leave it to inflate some more. Overall, it's a must haveAbsolutly love this. Perfect size. Great for ultra light backpacking. I purched for my husband. He has used it on several trips in all sorts of terrain. Would recommend.Would have been 5 stars if they hadn't changed the valve to a massive lump under my left shoulder. I never, in the 32 years of sleeping on Thermarest pads, had a problem with an old style valves.Only used a couple times inside a tent. Problem was it was during a period of a couple years when we did very little camping. So, of course the company politely told me to bugger off and wouldn't fix it or replace it. Don't expect any kind of premium treatment regardless of spending a premium amount of money with this company. By the way, I've bought 5 of these for the whole family. Does it matter to them? No! So now I have a virtually new pad that is worthless. I'll be buying either a cheap one I can live with throwing away when it fails or most likely a foam pad that won't fail. This company will never see another penny from us.I bought 2 and had to send one back because it did not self inflate at all and what's the point of buying self inflatable mats if they don't work. Replacement didn't inflate real well either but a few extra puffs and it was fine (I had to give the other mat that I kept originally a few puffs as well, maybe this is how all self inflates are). I left them both nflated for a couple weeks and laid on them several times to be sure they didn't leak. They seem to be fine. I plan to go on a 4 week backpacking trip this summer so I am hoping they can take being inflated and deflated daily for that long. I found the mats to be comfortable. Oddly I bought 2 regular sized mats but one is longer than the other, but since I am using one and my husband the other I took the shorter one.Amazing product. Took on a back packing trip and it was a warm night and didn’t need a tent. Just laid these out on a solid granite Boulder and slept well. didn’t even feel the rock underneathPacks small and light. Comfortable for its size but these old bones wish for something a little better.Velcro or some other way to keep a bag from sliding off would be awesome!I purchased a Therma-Rest ProLite Plus to use as a mattress on business class flights with lay-down seats. I travel 100,000 miles a year. Even though I am grateful for having a business class lay-flat seat, the airline seat cushions are fairly hard, especially on Lufthansa. My back and hips are always sore, even mores on the overnight flights. The Therma-Rest improves the comfort level by 50%. It's relatively easy to inflate and position, it fits perfectly on the seat, and it only takes about 4 minutes to deflate it and roll it back up. This is a great product for long-haul business class fliers. So light. Easy to pack. Takes up little space. Very comfortable. If you want a firmer mattress, you do have to blow a few breaths of air into it but it only needs 2 good lungfulls - Easy. I use this with my Rab Ridge Raider Bivi - perfect fit. It's now my number one choice for all camping trips. Just open the valve and leave alone for 10-20 minutes for it to 'breathe' the air in. Then close the valve and roll all the air to the bottom. Unroll flat again and re-open the valve to suck more air in. So simple.Fantastic! Warm, comfortable, lightweight! Going to this pad has freed up considerable space in my pack which was my goal when I ordered this! As far as comfort etc goes its the moist comfortable and easy to pack matt Iv used to date! Best there is in my opinion! Buy with confidence!Fantastic! Used with a pillow, this is just SO comfortable, rolls up well and isn't heavy. Read instructions for care - store unrolled with valve open. I've started buying these for the family for camping and walking holidays.Got this for a two week self-drive safari, sure it's comfy enough but it's so thin (widthwise) that any movement and you just roll off it. Might be OK for a small child but not for an adult in my opinion.Great
