I like the idea of having a wood stove in my tent but this item is worthless for that purpose. The so call wood stove leaked smoke out of every hole. Where the stove pipe attaches to the top of the wood stove there's three screws that hold it down and there's no gasket smoke was billowing out of that area. The issue I find with this is that the exhaust pipe is too small for the size of the box so the smoke exited wherever there was the least resistance. Another thing that attracted me to buy this wood stove was the glass port that lasted about 10 minutes after it was blocked by creosote.. I followed setup instructions and did the initial burn as suggested. Worked like a champ and the gasket seems unphased by a three hour burn. I like the damper and vents as it seems to really work well to control the burn rate. I had zero problems with this.Fire was easy to get started and after getting everything hot it draws really greatThis is definitely able to be packed and used other places but we keep it up at camp. There’s only a gas stove up there right now and it gets the whole cabin way too hot. This is perfect for our little family. It was easy to put together. Easy to use. Gets super hot and works well. We got a cover for it so we can leave it outside in all weather without it getting ruined. I’d recommend it!Summary: For such a little camping stove, it puts off enough heat when it was around 35F at night. That's not that cold but it's great for that creature comfort. I would recommend it if you aren't in artic temperatures and can get access to smaller kindling. You can't fit big logs in here but that's fine.Pros:+ super compact and lightweight compared to my other rocket stove (but not something you can use for ultralight camping but that's kind of obvious)+ puts off so much heat+ fits my heat powered stove fan+ easy to set up and storeCons:- powdercoat isn't that great and will scratch easily- won't fit too much wood but given the size, you can't expect too much- door is kind of hard to closeIt finally got cool enough to test this stove here in Arizona. The setup only included installing the stovepipe connection, the door, and two knobs. The stovepipes, gloves, and firewood stick are inside the stove. I unfolded the legs and racks, and everything was ready to go.I loaded some paper for kindling and took a dry 12-inch 2x4, split it into four pieces, placed it on top of the kindling, and started it on fire. It lit up quickly, and I closed the door and put on the cover. It warmed up rapidly, and the fire burned well. The entire stove started smoking, evidently outgassing some of the coatings. It only happened the first time I used it; it didn't happen on subsequent uses.I was impressed at how much heat it put out. With a single piece of wood, we cooked an egg, boiled 3 cups of water, and warmed things up an impressive amount. There is no way I could have done that over an open fire. It is easy to add more wood, but you must have the pieces small enough to put inside. The chimney effectively got the smoke out of our way, and I noticed that after the initial burst, the smoke was minimal. This unit burns the wood cleanly and efficiently. The ashtray made cleanup easy, and after it cooled off, I stored everything inside the unit. I noticed that the windows got dirty quickly. I was able to clean them with some effort using a magic eraser or a steel wool pad, but I will probably not wash them too often due to the effort required.Overall, I am impressed with this little stove and will use it for camping. When I grew up in the Caribbean, our elderly preferred to cook outside with wood in improvised "fogones" (used concrete blocks, rocks, ect). Some were permanently elaborated, others temporary. One thing was for sure, some foods tasted wayyyyy better! So when I saw this product, I could not resist trying it. The stove is well made, and even includes the exhaust system. It has some weight to it, but easy to carry around.
