Read more >> Save Your Time and Strength in Inflation & Deflation We've upgraded the valve of our sleeping pad and make the inflation & deflation much easier than before. Unlike traditional self-inflating sleeping pad with one-way valve which keeps letting air flow back while deflating, our sleeping mat is designed with an advanced 2-way valve . Simply flip the valve to the right side and experience how simple the inflation and deflation could be. TO INFLATE: Just flip the valve to inflating side and let the sleeping pad self inflate to about 80%. Blow some air in with mouth or pump (not included) to achieve perfect thickness and firmness. The valve let air only in and prevent leaking while inflating. TO DEFLATE: Flip the valve to the deflating side and the valve will stop air from getting back in order to ensure an easier deflation. TLDR; Mat is a little thinner than advertized, still very comfortable. Durable. Nice and wide. Easy to use. Just buy it already. My wife and I took a gamble on two of these mattresses. We hoped to try them out before our camping trip to make sure they were worthwhile, but they arrived an hour before we left, so we just had to trust that they were good. They did not disappoint. Here are our thoughts:1) The material it is made of seems relatively durable. We have a couple older mats and the mats from Hikenture seem thicker and more durable. There is a built in pillow area, but it is just slightly raised (maybe 3/4"). I personally need more pillow than that, so plan ahead.2) As mentioned in other reviews, this mat does not inflate to 3'. It is well over 2", but at best 2.5". Worry not, I don't think this is a big deal.3) My wife and I have both developed back trouble in the last few years and we knew that our old 1" thick mats were just not going to cut it. Hence the investment. The first night I slept with my mat not quite 100% inflated, maybe 85%? I started being uncomfortable in the early morning. The next night I inflated it fully and slept great on night 2 & 3 (except for dealing with the raccoon relentlessly raiding our campsite resulting in regular fending off maneuvers to protect our kingdom... But I digress). My wife did the opposite, she slept on it at 100% on night 1 and reduced it on night 2&3. Both of us slept great. We use a sleep number bed at home and I would argue that I felt as well rested as on our bed at home (other than lack of sleep due to raccoon patrol).4) Inflation is a breeze. Their valve works great. It completely inflated by itself if you just leave it for a while. Deflation is equally simple. Flip the valve around, fold it a couple times, take a rest on top of it while it deflates, then roll it up. It is easy to adjust the fitness too by simply flipping the valve partially. I never had to blow into the mat to increase the firmness, but you could if you want to.5) The weight of this mat will restrict it to being a device used in a tent in a campground. It is not horrible, but you will not be happy with this thing if you have to hike 15 miles a day. For campground camping this thing is perfect.6) The size is overall just big enough to be awesome. It is the width of my regular rectangular sleeping bag. It takes a lot of rolling to roll off. At one point I realized that my son left his own mat in the middle of the night and started using my mat as his pillow. No problem... I have some extra width to share.7) The storage bag is decent. It is essentially a big side load draw string bag with handles. Once again, if you are hiking, this is not the container that you want for this mat, but we already established that you won't be hiking with this mat, right? The bag has a built in pouch with a patch kit.Overall, while the thickness is perhaps the only thing that is not 100% as advertized, it detracted nothing from the comfort and functionality of the mat. If you read this far, then you already know that you should buy this mat.I have used self inflating air mattresses in the past, but this one is by far the best. Now I did not get out my tape measure and a magnifying glass to check specs, but I can say that the mattress is thick enough and supportive enough when properly inflated, to provide a comfortable night's rest considering you're sleeping in a 3 inch mattress. I do a bit of camping, and whether I am in the back of my SUV or a tent, it provides a decent level of comfort. It holds air for days provided you inflate it correctly. All things considered, it works great and I would recommend it for most people without hesitation.I tent camped at a dog agility show this past weekend and used the mattress for the first time on a cot. I loved it! It was very comfortable, and I was able to easily adjust the firmness. Slept really well. I got the larger size and it was well worth it. It was easy to inflate (I bought a small USB air pump). The mechanism in the valve worked great for inflating. It was a bit more work to deflate, but I was able to get that done with the help of the pump in about 10 minutes. I can't wait to use it again. Since I brought everything with me in a car, I can't speak for it's weight.I loved this Hikenture camping pad. Suitable for instances when you won’t have to haul this thing for miles (e.g. tent camping or car camping). I borrowed a friend’s camping pad from a very well known brand that specializes in camping gear (ahem, R**), and it wasn’t nearly as comfortable or easy to deflate as this camping pad. I tested it on our hardwood floor last night: I agree with the other reviews that say you will find the fully-inflated pad very comfortable if you like a firm sleeping surface. I knocked out for a good three hours during my test. I let it self-inflate for 3-4 minutes and added 6-8 puffs of air to get it to its full thickness. The valve design is pretty genius and makes this pad easy to deflate and wrestle into the compression sack. To deflate, I like to flip the valve exactly in half so that there’s a large hole for the air to escape. Then, I fold in half, sit on top, and repeat until I get a thin enough strip that I can hug with my whole body weight. I then unroll the pad, flip the valve to deflate mode (solid side out), roll it as small as I can, then I basically lay my whole body on it to get all the air out. I twist on the cap, then start rolling it to fit into the carry sack. Not the height thats advertised and since it was more expensive than others, thats why i gave it 3 stars. Mine only got to about 2 inches in height and thats with blowing it up extra which made it way to hard to be comfortable on. For a decent comfort level i feel like i would need 2 of these stacked on each other, also to get close to the 3 inch height it advertises. I do like the extra width it has over other pads. Deflates and rolls up easily, fits back into the nice carrying case. Looks like its built with good quality. But for the cost dont know if its worth the price. Maybe i just got a bad one of the bunch...Will add photo laterRevised review. Hikenture has great customer service and after talking to one of the representatives, the 3 inch height is achieved after fully inflating the mattress. This did make it uncomfortable for me but it may be fine for others looking for a firmer fit. I was able to get a comfortable fit of the mattress at about 2.5" height. Thank you to the great customer service. Will be buying from again since they stand behind their products and were willing to look at and if necessary revise their description of the item to make it clearer of what the full height entails. This product is fine, but does not live up to the description. It is not 3 inches thick, and barely self inflates. You will open it up and have to blow it up to size, it's probably 1 inches thick after you open the valve and wait awhile. And I couldn't get a measurement over 2.5 inches after blown up. There are a lot in this price range on Amazon, try another one instead of this one.Really like the large size which allows room to move around. The inflation valve is the best. The way it flips to lock the air when inflating or locks air out when deflating is very helpful. I prefer to add just a couple breaths to get the firmness I like. But it can adjusted from soft to full firm. Considering the size when open, it does roll up pretty compact and the travel bag is handy. I wouldn’t consider it a backpacking mattress, but it’s great for car camping or even for guests that stay over at home.Nous l'avons utiliser pour notre voyage en spyder à Carleton sur mer, 4 dodos sans aucune perte d'air.Super service de la compagnie pour l'enregistrement de nos matelas, reçu deux oreiller vraiment mais vraiment confortable. This was the third camping mattress I ordered. Despit all if them having good reviews this is the only one that met and exceeded expectations.
