I have a Therma Rest Self Inflating sleeping Pad that I use in my Kodiak Canvas tent. I wanted me and the sleeping pad off the tent floor. After reviewing multiple cots I bought this Teton Sport Camping Cot. It's very well made and handled my 200 lb weight without a problem. I couldn't get the last corner connected using the attached red pin. The pin kept slipping out of place. I watched an instructional video someone (not Teton) posted on Youtube then used a screwdriver as leverage instead of the red pin to get the last corner connected. That made assembly easy for me thus the 5 stars for assembly. I found the cot uncomfortable though without my sleeping pad on it. Like mentioned in another review, you might want to get some type of pad or cushioning to put on the cot before lieing down for bed. Cot is comfortable enough if your just sitting on it. I expect the material will loosen up with use altough I hope not. I would buy it again if needed; assuming it lasts a decent amount of time and I expect it will.We have used these so many times since receiving them. We have camped while exploring the West Coast and have enjoyed serene nature day and night. I have slept well on these cots - my BFF and I - weeks at a time. We stayed at hotels intermittently, but missed the sounds of crashing waves, owl hoots, and sea birds call. Good cots go with a good tent, and our little dog could sleep on them too.We aren't young adventurers (50+ crowd) and I'm a stroke survivor, so getting up from the ground is too challenging. These cots were perfect for this.Took me a while to get a chance to use it in the field but I am impressed. Kept me a good distance off of the ground but not so high that I was touching the ceiling of the tent (I have a super old tent from 1999 that's still in great condition). Easy to assemble inside that tent and was big enough for me to comfortably sleep on with a mat and sleeping bag. Only downside (which IMO is kinda obvious) is it's big when packed up, so don't hike with this thing. Great for camp grounds or other places where you are not hiking in and out of the camping spot.Would recommend for anyone who wants to sleep in comfort but are tenting in one place.I bought the largest cot first and realized that it was way too large for me and just like goldilocks I tried the smaller one. I never took it out of the box because it was too narrow. So finally I purchased the middle size and it was "just right". I have a backpacking pad and placed it on the cot and that made it extra comfortable.Assembly of the last bar was a little tough but once you get the pin in the hole it goes right into place. This is nothing like the old type cots. This makes my camping experience much better as I am not a spring chicken anymore and got tired of sleeping on an air mattress that would lose air overnight. This is a good buy....I'm 6'1" 200lbs and the cot fit me perfectly with plenty of room to spare.I passed out on it super quick and slept well throughout the night. No overheating, no issues of anykind.Assembly was easy out of the box, and the first time you put it together will be the hardest time. After that, its a breeze. While the bags are a little puzzling, they DO make it so that packing it in and out is very easy. I'm not sure exactly what could be done to improve them, but something I'm sure as the design is a bit awkward.Definitely recommend buying some 'booties' for these cots as the hard textured plastic feet could easily rip your tent floor if you're one some rockier ground. The Universal size is just perfectly sized to fit into a Eureka Space Camp 4 tent, it gets right to the edges and is a tight, but manageable fit. (They'd be perfect in the Space Camp 6).I originally purchased a pair of these cots, and immediately opened and assembled one upon receiving it. It all looked good and worked well, so I put it away until camping time. Well a few days before our first trip with these, we opened up the second one and it had three small tears in it that were about a inch or less in size.I contacted Teton with some photos and the order invoice, and got an immediate reply AND they overnighted me a new cover which made it to me a day before the trip. Replacing the cover was very simple with a screwdriver and crescent wrench (8mm if you have one, but adjustable works). I was very happy with that customer service experience.I can’t believe how easy this is to set up! Comfy and doesn’t sag in the middle like others!I really wanted the larger, sturdier version of this cot, but couldn't get it delivered in time. That said, this cot did everything I expected of it. That pivot arm feature really works! It goes together (and comes apart) much easier than other cots that assemble similarly. I used a Thermarest Neo-Air mattress and my sleeping bag on it and it slept quite comfortably. It probably would have been OK without the mattress. My only real complaint is that it did tend to creak a bit when I turned over. I tend to toss and turn at night and the cot complained a little. A fellow camper bought the bigger, sturdier cot and had no complaints. This one is fine, but I'd suggest spending the money for the only slightly pricier version.First of all the pivot arm makes this cot is super easy to set up. I have the XXL version which I adore but was slightly too long for my tent. So I bought the adventurer camp cot. The product description says it is 28" wide, which is misleading. The sleeping surface is only 25" wide. The top and bottom rails are 28" wide, but those contribute nothing to the sleep surface. If you don't mind the narrowness, this is an excellent cot.Side note, I ordered a new cot but received one that was clearly used. It had scratches, a mangled end cap, and actual dirt. It was distributed by Amazon so I do not know if that reflects badly on Teton or Amazon. Regardless it's going back.ProsLong enough for a fully grown manSturdy for infrequent useLooks goodConsCreakySeams frayed after regular use by 236lb teen (product bought august 28, photo taken November 8) Not good to 400lb as advertisedSo far, I'm unable to find information to contact customer serviceBottom line: I liked the cot enough to buy another, but seeing the damage to the first one I bought I will be looking elsewhere for my next cots.Edit. Reduced my rating, as my first cot is now 3 1/2months old and unusable. I attempted to contact the seller and had no luck. Will not recommend, or buy moreThe thing is long. Almost as comfortable as my bed, granted I also used a sleeping pad, wouldn't try it without that at my hefty weight. The space underneath is great as well - sure kept the tent tidier. Glad I also ordered the cot organizer - that was really handy. Easy to assemble with that patented hinge thing. Love being higher off the ground. And you know how some cots this style have the posts sticking out at the top and the bottom of the bed, and how you gouge your leg as you pass by? On this, the ends only extend on one side, so you can turn that towards your tent wall. You can see it in the picture of the three cot sizes for tentock. Never gouged once. Big thing, but for car camping it's great. The cot is sturdy, feels nice and solid when I'm on it and assembles easily. I thought the pivot arm looked like a cheap thing, but surprisingly it works very well. However, for the price of this thing it should come with a much better storing bag. The bag feels cheap and only has two little Velcro closures, so when you out it away the bag still sits a bit open. The handles are thin and narrow. This should be done differently for sure. The product would have been great if it wasn't sent used and damaged. I recieved what appeared to be a used cot, the arm that's supposed to make it easy to set up was bent and unusable. There were numerous scuff marks on the frame of the cot and the plastic end caps were damaged. Otherwise, the cot was sized as described and seemed very sturdy and comfortable after setting it up. It is a shame that it arrived in the condition it did.I'm a 5 ft 7 female around 150 pounds and I found this cot too narrow for me, I returned it and ordered the Universal. The length was perfect and it's a pity they don't make a cot wider like the Universal but the same length as the Adventurer. If you have a 6 person tent and need 2 cots then these may fit better, 2 Universal cots may be too large for a 6 person tent. I'll be using 2 Universal cots in a Marmot 8 person tent. The stated width is measured from the ends of the end bars and not the sleeping area which is a few inches narrower. The quality is great and the cot is very sturdy, you will however need a sleeping mat to go on top which makes the cot a lot more comfy. I would say this cot for be perfect for smaller adults who need less room and children. There isn't really a lot of room to turn if you are a larger adult. Simple to assemble and it comes with a carry case with velcro straps but no zip.
