I purchased this spork after reading several reviews and watching a handful of videos. To be honest I was skeptical about the idea of a spork in the first place. I had bought one previously about 6 months ago and was not very impressed. Turns out... that was my fault. I ordered a product that had a fork on one end and a spoon on the other (e.g,, not a spork!)I decided to purchase the Vargo Titanium Spork as an experiment for my (3) sons and I to use as an "Every Man's Tool" around the house and while on the road. Let me say that we have been very surprised with the build quality of the sporks and just how convenient they truly are (if it can take the abuse from two 7 year olds and a 6 year old, it's okay in my book.) I ordered multiple colors in the same line, and I will touch on that in a bit. Overall, if you are looking for a piece of high quality cutlery that will stand the test of time, this is not your product, let's just put that out there. That being said, if you are looking for a phenomenal eating tool that nails the design and function of a spork, is truly lightweight and has a fantastic price point, than this Vargo spork is the one you want.I have not weighed the spork to see if the manufacturer's stated weight is indeed correct. I can say that the spork is very light in hand and that even having (6) of them in a micro-fiber cloth case in the pocket of my fleece jacket while out at an amusement park all day was not an issue at all. Taking them with us on our amusement park trip really gave me a great idea of how these sporks perform and the life expectancy they should have. From eating chicken and mashed potatoes to ice cream and a Cinnabon, these sporks did the job well. They were light in hand, the prongs were not over exaggerated and the usable surface of the spoon portion was just right.My only complaint was with the different colored versions of this spork. Having the gold, blue and violet along with the straight polished version there was a big amount of color loss and dulling from the first use and even before (removing form the packaging.) The polished titanium sporks were the standouts in quality as they have an impressive shine and they seem like they will stay that way. The gold version lost it's coloring just taking it out of the packaging, and the blue and violet versions had similar results after just 1-2 uses, rinsing with water and wiping dry. While they all served the same function and had the same feel, the straight polished version is the only variant that I can recommend for long term use. When I say that this will not stand the test of time, it's due to nature of the metal and design. While titanium is extremely hypoallergenic in nature and resilient to extreme corrosion, the spork is made with a thickness that will not stand up over decades to come (mind you that it is still stronger than it's closest competitors)... but hey, it's a $10 spork, what you get for that amount is a great value. Unless you plan on handing this down as a family heirloom you can't beat the style and functionality of this product.This little guy is perfect for camping, family outings, picnics, road trips, lunch breaks and even just while at home. It has even won the seal of approval from my wife, and that is saying a lot for an item she equates with something you only use at a fast food restaurant."Get one to try out yourself and see... you'll either love it or hate it...
